Chasing subjects is an every day reality for a photographic investigator. And sometimes the temptation to just let them walk away without being investigated is too strong. Most of the times this photographic investigator resists, though...
Read MoreThe life of a photographic investigator can be "found" in or "described" by Electric Light Orchestra's songs. It's magic. So, today, I guess it's "Heaven only knows" from the album "Balance of Power": Now the sun will shine
And I'm gonna work it out this time
And before the light
All I gotta take is one more night
Heaven only knows, I'm really on the level
Heaven only knows, I'm trying to find a way
Heaven only knows, I'm walking down a straight and lonely road today
When a photographic investigator wants to get some specific effects on her photographic investigation, all she has to do is feed her subjects psychedelic cookies. They do the job every time.
Read MoreWhen the subject of the investigation is the coffee itself, an experienced photographic investigator knows how to read the signs. The expressions, the way of sipping it, the looks and the direction of the eyes, a hidden smile... They all reveal so much about how the rest of day is going to unfold.
Read MoreWe were listening to Donald Byrd's version of "I'm a fool to want you" and the shadows were very inspiring... So I decided to photographically investigate what would happen if we were shooting an hypothetical cover for the song, as a single. It was one of these autumn afternoons where everyone has a different version of what is going on. But don't they ever... My subject was impeccable, although she preferred Tom Jones' version. Oh well...
Read MoreI was investigating a birthday party that was taking place outside of time and in an unspecified place. I was transported there by pure will -one of the most important skills of a photographic investigator who cares about surviving- and when I got to the dinner table Pizza and Karaoke were already there. There was also a fellow time traveller who had assumed the appearance of a child -her name should remain unspoken, I was told. A presence was still missing. Jasmine. We waited and waited. And suddenly, the phone rang. (To be continued)
Read MoreMy subject was radioactive. And the only way to photographically investigate a radioactive boy -as well as a radioactive toy, by the way- is through myopia glasses. Luckily, they were available.

Read MoreKanella means "cinnamon" in greek and as I am sure you have guessed by now, the word was the only clue I was given about this particular assignment. But nothing can beat an assignment on a greek beach so, I went, I investigated and the only thing I can reveal about my subject is that she gave me the opportunity to taste the best lamb stew in the galaxy. Kanella made it spicy, just like her name and her personality... To be continued...
Read MoreI had 2 major assignments for the summer of 2017... Pink flamingos and beach vamps... I was lucky in both photographic investigations. You'll have to wait a little longer for the pink flamingo extravaganza though...
Read MoreAnother Venice secret society, mysteriously linked to the infamous Mister circle... I was hired to investigate a series of crossings into alternate realities. My only clue was that there was always the appearance of a woman with a black hat and the existence of a strange 'bubble tunnel" through which everyone had to pass through. All I had to do was follow the Mister, that enigmatic figure that had introduced me to all kinds of secret groups and societies in mystical Venice. My report after this investigation: simply... inconclusive.

Read MoreShe was a fellow photographic investigator. It was obvious from the way she was trying to avoid my lens. Of course this is impossible. But she didn't know... I met her in the airport, as I was waiting my delayed Honolulu flight. Alohe oe, the beautiful song that the hawaiian queen Lili'uokalani had composed a long time ago, was in my ears and in my heart. Another unplanned photographic investigation... Until we meet again...
Read MoreThat morning I woke up in Venice and, the thought that I had received bad news the night before, didn't appear in my mind immediately. Those precious 10 seconds of freedom from the past gave me a kind of optimism... Maybe tomorrow they would be 15 or 20... My first impression was a song from my youth - from those years that for some reason always bring a feeling of carelessness and happiness, although you know that they weren't that careless nor that happy... But it was a good start. Another day in paradise was about to begin... All I had to do was to photographically investigate a beautiful young pianist who belonged to the mysterious Il Mister circle. And mysterious and reserved she was... I had to take extra precautions as I was warned about her extraordinary ability to manipulate everything and everyone while she was playing Chopin. I cannot reveal these precautions. They obviously worked though, because all that she played was Chopin...
Read MoreAnother obscure Venice personality, connected to the Mister circle of spies and other mysterious people... Her code name was "Mis Legs" not only for the obvious reasons but because this was the last thing her enemies saw after they were defeated... I investigated her through many angles and the fact that you are seeing the fruits of my photographic investigation proves that I wasn't her enemy. To be continued...
Read MoreI saw once a documentary about New York. I remember something a Queen's resident said, sitting in the stairs in front of his house, smoking: "You can go around the world meeting all kinds of people or you can stay in your porch day by day, watching people go by... It's exactly the same thing...". I know now this is so true! This photographic investigation took place in la Pizzeria delle Zattere, in Dorsoduro, Venice.
